Some people might think I’m ridicilous but this is just a quick shot of how I came through the memorial evening of Michael Jackson… together with my niece, the Kleenexbox was too small, and even at the end my son, Bart, was sobbing on the couch, realizing one of his big idols had left this world. Together we were singing « Man in the Mirror », and very much into all the songs and beautiful words that have been said.

crying over MJ

Stevie Wonder’s performence was, in my eyes, the most beautiful one ; « I never Dreamed you would leave in summer », take a look here :

I won’t go into the argument about « who’s bad »… I loved Michael Jackson, his life, his carreer, his music, the lyrics he could write, about the human nature, the world… it all meant a lot to me, I am deeply touched by his death.

After Manu Katché, one of my favourite french artists, Sinclair, a great composer and artist, joined the new jury (see picture header) on the TV show « Nouvelle Star » (french Idols).

I am having a great time this afternoon, Bart is off for rugby, Philippe went with him training his team, Dorine is out with a friend, so here I am, finaly I can listen to some music, watch video’s etc, so I wanted to show you some of his work. One of his best records is a live record :  sinclair-album04.jpg great to listen out loud in the car !!!

He’s perfect as a jurymember in the french Idols version which started three weeks ago, soon the primes will start, it will be fun, many talents have been shown already, even a girl from Rotterdam, Maartje, she came all the way down to Nantes for the castings. I’ll keep you updated, I hope it will be as exciting as last year with the great Julie Doré, winner of the 2007 edition !

In summertime we don’t watch much of television because it is just too nice to stay outside and enjoy the sunset, the music of the crickets, the kids playing, our pool…(a rubberbath just big enough to get wet but it cools you off…), so we dine and wine late.

Two days ago when I went to bed I couldn’t believe it, they were sending out on late nite movie « Once upon a time in the West »… now isn’t that one of these movies that we just adored, and adore but you don’t think of watching it again because you might say : « oh well, seen it… » Well, DO watch it again as I did, and I just loved every minute of it, how beautiful Claudia is, how awfull Henri Fonda can be, how we just love these old Westerns…

I love this trailer (the whole movie is almost in it hahaLOL):

I was in the car this morning, and I love when they play these great easy « singalong » songs and this time they were doing an interview with an actor who said he used to watch the old Tv Series « Rawhide »… now here goes Western again, isn’t it great, Rawhide, that song, it makes you happy and it also made me think of Clint Eastwood, one of his first perfomances and it made him popular and famous, and then ofcourse, the Blues Brothers singing that song in this awfull bar (behind the iron fench to protect them from people throwing bottles etc) :

I found the Rawhide theme on video at Dailymotion but I just can’t get the d… thing on my blog, it’s great, with young Clint…mmmm…so just click here to watch it.

(Bart loves the Blues Brothers, he knows the DVD’s by heart (1 and 2 !), plays them over and over again, very proud because he saw Eric Clapton and BB King both last year in different concerts).

Anyway, I just thought it was nice to talk about Westerns, I love the old good ones and I’m sure y’all do !

Move ’em on, head ’em up,
Head ’em up, move ’em out,
Move ’em on, head ’em out Rawhide!
Set ’em out, ride ’em in
Ride ’em in, let ’em out,
Cut ’em out, ride ’em in Rawhide.

Tonight, 20.50 hrs on M6, one of the french channels, I will be in a show called CAPITAL. Lately I was invited by a well known french oenologue and friend Isabelle Forêt,  for a « dégustation de rosé », a Rosé tastings. We all had to bring a dish (a pink dish, everything had to be pink, I brought a Tarama.)

Isabelle Forêt writes a guide for women and wine, Femivin, so she decided to have a few of her womenfriends around to do this rosé tasting together. Since Rosé wine is so « à la mode » everywhere, and this program Capital talks about all sort of things going on in economy/everyday things in the world, they decided to film this.

I have no idea what it’s going to be like, maybe just a bunch of stupid women sipping and chatting about the rosé’s they get to drink, but I think it will be fun to watch and I’m just proud to be in it !
