A wonderful spring garden in Chateauneuf

Every year at my mother’s house (see the special page) is a spectacular moment when all flowers and trees start to bloom in spring. I wanted to share these pictures with you, just amazing.

These are the Peony roses, my favorite !

One of the most amazing flowers in her garden is the “Senateur LaFolette” a rampant Rosa Gigantea Hybrid that can grow to around 50 feet (16m) in height.

My mother, being an great garden amature, she visits English gardens every year, once said :”the only rose I miss in my garden is a Senateur LaFolette, but I can’t find it”… well that was enough information for us (since with Riviera Expat we can find EVERYTHING !!!), and with one phonecall we found her a plant. It arrived in a cartonbox, all wrecked, really little and it looked awfull, (actually, we never payed for it and they never asked us so…) we thought it would never live but here you are, this is the result after a few years :

It grows in a huge blue cedar, it goes it’s own way and it is just fabulous :
